The editorial method, in the open
- 1. What happened — verified facts, each dated and sourced.
- 2. Who said what — direct quotes with attribution.
- 3. Primary evidence — filings, official statistics, transcripts.
- 4. What supporters argue, and what critics and contrary evidence say.
- 5. Historical context, market and household implications — labeled analysis.
- 6. The Capstone interpretation — labeled as our view, never as fact.
- 7. A Christian stewardship perspective — principles, not proof-texts.
- 8. What we still do not know, with a stated confidence score.
Source hierarchy
Four tiers, disclosed on every claim
- Tier 1 — Primary. Government data, SEC filings, company reports, court records, transcripts.
- Tier 2 — Reputable reporting. Reuters, AP, FT, Bloomberg, WSJ and major specialist publications.
- Tier 3 — Analysis. Quality research and commentary, weighed against the record.
- Tier 4 — Leads only. Social posts and forums. Never sufficient for a factual claim.
Each file is classified Positive, Negative, Mixed or Unknown on the evidence — we do not cherry-pick bad news. The goal is truth, not confirmation. See our research library and citation policy.
