Live gold, silver, and platinum spot prices
Spot is the price of one troy ounce of raw metal right now. It is the floor beneath every quote we give you, and it is the honest starting point for any conversation about what a coin is worth. The readings below are pulled from a live metals feed and stamped with the time they were taken.

Why our prices are not simply spot
Spot buys you an ounce of metal on paper. It does not buy you a struck, graded, and sealed coin. Bullion rounds and bars trade close to spot with a modest premium for minting, handling, and insured delivery.
Certified pieces are different. A slabbed America the Beautiful five-ounce coin with a top grade and a first-day-of-issue pedigree is priced on merit, grade, and pedigree — typically well above the metal inside it — because the supply of that exact coin in that exact grade is finite. Our inventory pages show you the melt value, the premium over melt, and the comparable sales we researched, so you can judge the number rather than take it on faith.
Spot-priced bullion listings recalculate against a fresh reading daily. Certified listings only change when a person here reviews the research and confirms the new price. All metal sales are final; metals are volatile and are not suitable for every investor.
