As issued by the United States Mint, every America the Beautiful piece is a 3-inch, 5 troy ounce .999 fine silver coin with a vapor-blasted matte finish, the incused edge marking .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE, and no mint mark on the bullion issues. The Mint shipped them in tubes of five inside sealed monster boxes; certified examples like the one photographed above were pulled from those original tubes and submitted for grading, which is why an untouched, high-grade survivor trades far above a raw coin.

A 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial 5 ounce silver America the Beautiful coin, certified PCGS MS69 with the First Strike designation and sealed in its original PCGS holder. Five troy ounces of .999 fine silver in a 3-inch diameter format, with the Washington quarter obverse enlarged to fit the oversized planchet and a reverse showing the carved presidential faces of the South Dakota memorial.
Mount Rushmore closed out the 2013 America the Beautiful 5 ounce silver program. Because the series was struck in small numbers relative to demand, certified MS69 examples with First Strike labels remain the collector-preferred way to hold the issue.
